Samplers

Samplers are Audiocube’s primary playback devices.


Load any audio clip, trim it, pitch it, loop it, or trigger it from Tickers, Logic Boxes, and the Timeline - just as you would in a DAW or sampler instrument.

Creating a Sampler

Method

Steps

Import + Drag-Drop

Import audio into the Library, then drag the clip from the Adder panel onto the Stage.

Browser Window

Use the creation icons (or Right-click > Add > Sampler).

Auto-Create

Drag a file directly into the Stage; a Sampler spawns loaded with that sample.

Click to load its info into the UI.

Click-drag in any direction.

Clone

Hold C + left-click.

Delete

Hold Backspace + click (no undo yet).

Open / Close UI

Right-click or double-click.

Play

Hover + hold Spacebar.

Stop

Hold B.

Loop Toggle

Press L + click the Sampler.

Quick-Select in UI

Right-click to open one Sampler UI, then left-click another Sampler to switch focus.

Controls / Displays

Top Display

Device ID • File name • Clip length • Current playhead time

Waveform Panel

Start / End sliders define the playback region (green highlight).

Key Panel

Click any note to transpose (best if sample is tuned to C). +oct / –oct shift by one octave. Current Note shows active pitch.

Gain & Pitch

Gain fader = output level. • Pitch slider = fine multiplier (non-key).

Sequencing Panel

Attack = fade-in seconds. Decay = fade-out seconds (after Attack completes).

Triggering & Sequencing

Samplers can be sequenced in three main ways.

Tickers

Connect one or more Tickers to a Sampler for clocked playback:

  1. Link Ticker → Sampler (Ctrl + click).

  2. Set Tick Length / Pre-Tick in the Ticker UI for rhythm.

  3. Layer multiple Tickers for polyrhythms.

Use the Sequencer Timeline for DAW-style arrangement and spatial automation

Start Time

Drag a trigger event in the Sampler’s lane.

Spatial Moves

Record positions wih the mouse to make the Sampler travel through 3-D space while playing.

Logic Boxes

Samplers can also be sequenced by connected Logic Boxes and their pulses.

Effects per Sampler

Click Effects in the bottom bar to open a sub-panel of insert FX unique to that Sampler - shape tone or add modulation without touching other tracks.
