Soundwalls

Soundwalls are silent, physics-based objects that shape how sound travels in Audiocube.
Placed strategically, they block and reflect audio to build convincing rooms, corridors, and outdoor spaces.

How Soundwalls Affect Audio

Property

Description

Occlusion

Blocks sound when the wall sits between the source and the listener—simulating doors, pillars, or scenery.

Reflection

Creates early reflections when the wall is behind the source, adding depth and spatial “bounce.”

Both effects are driven by Audiocube’s real-time acoustic engine and can be toggled globally under Acoustic Settings.

**Tip **Enable Visualize in Acoustic Settings to watch wavefronts reflect and diffract around your Soundwalls.

Best Practices

  • Combine several walls at different angles for complex reflection patterns.

  • Keep gaps or doorways where you want sound to pass through unimpeded.

  • Adjust wall dimensions to match the scale of the scene—small walls yield subtle cues; large walls create dramatic slap-backs.

  • Re-check Occlusion behaviour after moving walls; even slight shifts can open or close listening paths.

Mastering Soundwalls lets you sculpt immersive, true-to-life soundscapes.
